Why is it important to maintain the right pH when growing marijuana plants?

So what is pH and why everyone is going crazy about it? Basically, pH is the only way for you to measure the acidity or basicity (alkaline) of a certain solution. It contains numerical numbers from 1 to 14 as 7 being neutral, 1 is the most acidic, and 14 is the most alkaline.

Generally, the right pH level needs to be maintained when growing a marijuana because this will help you to know if you are giving your plants the right amount of nutrients.

And when we say “right amount” it means that your cannabis plants should not get too low or too high amounts of nutrients since if you will not make an effort to measure the pH level of your growing medium (hydro or soil system), it is 100% guaranteed that your cannabis plants will suffer from different issues such as nutrient lock outs, nutrient build ups, and many more deficiencies.

So as a general rule, you should always make a time to check and manage the pH from your cannabis plants because of the following reasons:

  1. Your cannabis plants will be free from any types of nutrient deficiencies and leaf problems.
  2. You can get a chance to create an early preventive measure for you to fix some of the possible issues that may occur in your plants.
  3. Your cannabis plants will grow with great potentials that will surely help in fulfilling your cannabis desires.

In essence, managing the pH of your cannabis plants will protect you from encountering issues that may damage the health and life of your plants. So better make it a habit to check and adjust your pH to avoid any complications.

So now that we know the importance of pH level, the next question now is, what is the right pH to maintain?

There is no specific pH level when it comes to cannabis plants because the every nutrient solution has their own variations and chemical reactions. So the right term to use is what is the right pH range to maintain when growing a marijuana.

The answer to this will depend on your growing medium. For an instance, if you are using soil as your medium you need to maintain 6.0 to 7.0 pH and for soilless, hydro, or coco, your pH range should be between 5.5 to 6.5 pH.

Given these points, you have to understand that you don’t need to get the exact pH in your cannabis plants. You just have to know the right pH range then make sure that it will not go high or low. And when you already master the art of pH, expect that your cannabis plants will grow with much quality and excellence.

And now that you already have a solid knowledge about pH while growing a marijuana, you can now confidently start your cannabis growing without worrying about the condition of your plants. Good luck and happy growing!
