Indica hybrids are known to give a more relaxing and calming effect that allows you to be more social, talkative with different people. Famous indica strains are Bubba Kush, Granddaddy Purple, White Fire Alien OG.

  • Decarboxylation

There’s a good reason why cannabis is commonly smoked and not eaten. By not heating or burning it, the raw weed will have a full amount of THCA, this is non-psychoactive and is actually considered by some as a superfood. It has over 400 different chemical compounds inside the plant including vitamins, essential oils, and acids.

To begin the weed edible process, a chef should prepare the weed properly. By doing this, it’s assuring the people who will eat the edible will still experience the same kind of high while smoking the weed.

Keep in mind that the boiling temperature for THC is 314 degrees Fahrenheit, heating your cannabis too much or too long will on the result in lower levels of potency. Here is the step by step process:

    1. Preheat the oven to 240 degrees Fahrenheit. You can use an oven thermometer to gauge the oven’s true temperature.

Break the weed into manageable pieces and place it on a cookie sheet as if you are toasting spices. Never overload the marijuana that pieces are already on top of each other.

Put the sheet in the oven and observe it for 30-40 minutes. The duration will depend on the strength and strain of weed. What you’re looking for is a golden brown color as opposed to the original vibrant green color of the untoasted leaf.

Take it out of the oven and let it cool down for a couple of minutes. Once it has cooled down, put it in a food processor and pulse it for a second so it’s ground coarsely.

  • Infusion

Now it’s time to make the cannabutter which is basically infusing you active cannabis into a food that is perfect for any baking recipe: butter. We present you with a simple method that has been used by cannabis edible bakers.

Put a quart of water in a medium-sized saucepan and wait for it to boil. Once it’s boiling add your sticks of butter and wait for them to melt completely. After that, add your marijuana and reduce the heat and simmer.

The secret here is that to always keep your weed floating about 1.5 to 2 inches from the bottom of the pan. The butter should be cooked at low heat for three hours until the mixture starts getting thick at the top.

You’re almost finished, you can now take the mixture and place it in a bowl then line with cheesecloth. Squeeze out the remaining liquid butter. Allow the butter to cool for an hour and put it in the fridge until it has the consistency and texture of a spread.

You can now use this butter in making your edibles such as brownies and cookies. First-time users that’s learning to make weed edibles should cut these into quarters and allow each hour for each dose.

If you accidentally eat too many edibles, don’t worry it happens to everyone, there are ways to bring you down a bit. You can try curbing your high by eating pistachios or pine nuts. These contain pinene a chemical that helps with mental clarity. You can also eat citrus acid that if found in lemons, oranges, and grapefruits because of the terpenes they contain.

If you’re an individual who has a strong preference for salty snacks over savory ones, well we have good news for you. Popcorn is becoming a go-to choice as an edible in recent years and this is easy to make once you have your cannabutter ready.

It’s important to note that you will be making popcorn the old-fashioned way using unpopped kernels with two tablespoons of coconut oil and two tablespoons of cannabutter, add salt and pepper to taste and voila you have your own edible popcorn.

If you enjoy eating popcorn, another good news is that it has contained more antioxidants than some fruits and vegetables.
