How to Feminized Marijuana Seeds the Easy Way

how to feminized marijuana seeds the easy way

When it comes to cannabis growing and cultivation of feminized seeds, there is no easiest way or shortcuts to do it unless you are already an expert that does the process of seed feminization can be done in closed eyes. To be an expert, you need to learn the process and sometimes doing the process once is not enough. You need to exert effort and determination for you to be able to learn feminizing cannabis seeds the easiest way.

What are the Techniques in Creating Feminized Seed the Easy Way

  •  Induce feminized pollen chemically

Inducing male plants in producing feminized seeds through another female plant is the main process of this technique. This is the recommended and professional way of creating feminized seeds. This is also the technique used by seed banks to ensure that the process in creating feminized seeds will be 100% successful. In this technique, there are three methods used, the use of colloidal silver, Gibberellic Acid (GA3) and Silver Thiosulfate (STS). These three are solution-based compounds that can be used as a spray in developing the part of the plant as it enters the flowering phase.

    Colloidal Silver

This is the least expensive way of producing feminized seeds. You can buy it in the market or you can make your own so that you don’t need to invest too much. This solution, particularly the silver particles, inhibits the female flowering hormones in cannabis to have male hormones. You’ll just have to spray the area for 10-18 days until you see flowers that may appear. Wait for the pollen to mature because this pollen will be used in pollinating a good quality female cannabis plant.

    Silver Thiosulfate (STS)

This solution takes effect by stopping the production of ethylene. It has the same process as that of the Colloidal Silver but Silver Thiosulfate is more difficult to make and find. You’ll just have to spray the cannabis plant every 5 days after changing the lighting schedule for the flowering period and spraying it again after a couple of weeks.

    Gibberellic Acid (GA3)

Among these three techniques, this is the least effective. Most growers who use this solution would use 100ppm concentration and they would spray the plant on a daily basis for 10 days during the flowering phase until the male flowers are produced.

Steps in Doing This Technique

Step 1: The use of Colloidal silver, Gibberellic Acid (GA3) and Silver Thiosulfate (STS).

There are ways on how to acquire for colloidal silver, through purchasing a colloidal silver kit or through making your own. While Gibberellic Acid (GA3) and Silver Thiosulfate (STS) can be acquired through purchasing it but these two compounds are not always available.

Step 2: Spray the bud sites

The targeted area of the cannabis plant should be drenched in the solution for about 10-18 days in a row. In this process, the ethylene production is inhibited that is needed in producing this solution. It is advisable to apply this solution 1-2 days before switching into the flowering phase.

To be able to induce the flowering phase, you may need to change the light schedule into a 12/12 light schedule just ensure that your plant is 5-6 weeks old. You need to keep spraying until the pollen sacs open up.

Step 3: Harvest your feminized pollen

If you notice that the pollen sacs are starting to crack and look like they are about to open up, then it means that your pollen is ready to be harvested. Make sure to gently and carefully remove all the pollen sacs. Let it dry for a week and place it into a resealable bag. Shake the bag so that the pollen would spill out.

Step 4: pollinate another female plant

Using the feminized seeds that you have collected, use it to pollinate another female plant that has been 2-3 weeks flowering. It is recommended to pollinate a different female plant that had been starting to bud to increase the likelihood that you will have a high number of seeds to be produced.

Step 5: Wait to harvest the seeds

After 6 weeks you should be able to see that the calyxes on the buds of your female plant will be swollen and fat. If it starts to burst out. Then it is the perfect time to harvest it.

  1. Rodelization

This is the least used technique in creating feminized seeds because it is where you would put adequate stress to the cannabis plant allowing it to form male pollen sacs or known as bananas that have the ability to self pollinate. This process is quite complicated and dangerous because you might incur damage to your cannabis plant if done incorrectly that is why you need to have sufficient knowledge in doing this. Even though this process is not quite recommendable but a lot of growers are still into it because they don’t need to invest in any equipment just to create feminized seeds. However, if the process is done incorrectly there is a possibility that it may lead to hermaphroditism wherein the cannabis seed will not have a distinct quality because your feminized cannabis plant will produce seeds that have two sexes making it unproductive.

Growing Feminized Seeds

Proper care and guidance should be given in all the life stages of the feminized cannabis plant from germination, vegetative, flowering and through the harvest stage. You’ll just need to observe and understand what is good for them so that you would be able to deliver unique growing techniques that will help you maintain it.

Final Thoughts

Creating feminized seeds may be a complicated process but as long as you have the right knowledge and as long as you have patience and determination, you will be rewarded with high-quality yields.
