Alkaline Soil

Meaning

It’s any soil form that has a higher than the normal pH level. Alkaline soil is the opposite of acidic soil. The pH scale is the numeric system that falls between 0 to 14. The scale is used in testing and determining the alkalinity or acidity of the soil. The normal pH level sits between 6.0 and 7.0.
Alkaline soil tends to be richer in calcium, sodium, and magnesium. The nutrients are usually limited, and the plants can be stunted in the alkaline soil because it is not soluble in the same way with the acidic soil.
